Welcome to the Downey High School Website.  Downey High is one of two regular high schools located within the Downey Unified School District.  The school is home to 3,800 students in grades 9-12, approximately 240 staff members that include administrators, counselors, teachers, and support staff.  Currently the school is undergoing campus-wide renovation and construction.  Last year, the Allen Layne Stadium and the new SELACO buildings were opened.  In the Summer of 2007, the new C building will open to host 33 classrooms for the Science, Math, and the Business departments.  Also in the Summer of 2007, demolition of the old B, C, and D wings will occur and construction of the new B building will begin.  This website was created and is maintained to assist students, parents, staff members, and the community to show what the school is all about.  On your visit, please explore all the pages of the site to gain valuable information that this website has to offer.
